Biography

Denise Cooper has 35 years of diverse nursing experience. She initially graduated from a community college, which provided her with a strong background in medical and surgical nursing that became the foundation of her love of learning. She soon realized that this was just the beginning of her educational journey. She obtained her baccalaureate degree in nursing while working as a critical care nurse where her skill set and experiences expanded quickly. Realizing her love of teaching she decided to attend graduate school on a part time basis for her master’s degree while teaching at her Alma Mater ADN program. A new chapter in her nursing career led her to nurse executive positions in rural health settings. Denise cares deeply about the care of older adults and is dedicated to quality nursing care of elders. She believes that educating the next generation of nurses in the specific skills and knowledge necessary to respond professionally and effectively to the needs of an aging population is essential.
