Biography

Mr. Gutierrez was previously a Teacher Assistant in the Forensic Sciences Unit and is an alumnus of Chaminade’s MS in Forensic Sciences graduate program and the Hogan Entrepreneur’s Program. As a Chaminade alumnus, he started teaching at Chaminade as Lecturer in Fall 2017. He specializes in all subjects related to Crime Scene Investigation, Bloodstain Pattern Analysis, Forensic Anthropology and Forensic Microanthropology. His experience as a retired Captain from the Chilean National Police Agency and former Forensic Laboratory Director makes him ideally positioned to provide the student with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to be prepared to work in any forensic agency in the world. Mr. Gutierrez is also Science Director of True Forensic Science LLC, where, among other responsibilities, he manages agreements with police/forensic institutions from different countries. Mr. Gutierrez participates regularly in Forensic Conferences as a speaker not only in the U.S. but also in Latin America and Asia. Mr. Gutierrez founded a new forensic field known as Forensic Microanthropology, in which he continues doing research and will be taught to Chaminade’s Forensic Sciences students started in Fall 2017. Mr. Gutierrez also is part of the Hogan Entrepreneurs Program as an International Mentor.

Education

Mr. Gutierrez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Security Administration from the Escuela de Carabineros de Chile, a Masters in Educational Management from the Universidad Andres Bello de Chile and a Master of Science in Forensic Sciences from the Chaminade University of Honolulu. Currently is a Ph.D. student in the Juris Science Institute of Nayarit, Nayarit State, Mexico.
